Brazil Needs your Help!❤️ Let's Dance for a Good Cause❤️💃🕺  Welcome to Cloud9 Zouk events, where in this edition we dance to raise funds for the Brazil floods. We are seeking your support and donations to help in this time of crisis and for the rebuilding to come.  As you may have heard on the news and social media, Brazil is grappling with one of its worst floods in recent history. Torrential rains have drenched the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, home to 11 million people, since late April and have triggered severe flooding that has submerged entire towns, blocked roads, broken a major dam and shut down the international airport until June.  At least 105 people have been killed and 130 others have been reported missing. The floods, which have stretched across most of Rio Grande do Sul’s 497 municipalities, have forced nearly 164,000 people from their homes.  At Cloud9 Zouk we feel extra close to Brazil as this beautiful dance style originates from Brazil, and so many of us have grown to love this dance, the Brazilian culture and its people. We would love to show some love & raise money for all the people who are affected with this flooding and continue to be affected by it  ❤️  We will be giving 100% of the proceeds from our Zouk Sundays Party 2nd of June to this cause, as well as any extra donations or contributions raised from our dancers via an Australian based organisation called CASA, whose team of volunteers are working tirelessly to send resources and funding to provide food, shelter and essential items directly to those in need.

Welcome to Zouk Sundays by Cloud9Zouk Dance in 2024 🤗💃🕺

We are so looking forward to seeing everyone for some dancing, learning, making new friends, and being part of this amazing community we have in Brisbane and having so much fun along the way. 🙂

We are happy to invite you to a relaxing Sunday afternoon to get together with friends, put on your dancing shoes and dance to great tunes...oh not to forget to have cups of tea and cake. ☕🍰 It couldn't be better!!! 🙂

Well, this is a best place to experience Zouk for the first time with a fun absolute beginner class by our friendly community volunteers and then a welcoming social party after. We are looking forward to having you join our Zouk community.

Zouk Practica Sundays

These Sunday events started as Practicas with the aim of providing you with a friendly and accommodating place to improve your dancing skills and practice all those amazing moves which you learnt in your classes and at workshops & festivals.

Nowadays, it's more just social dancing, however we still allow the space and idea of using the first 30-60 minutes for you to use your dance as a 'practice' opportunity, and to explore movements, ideas or just seek feedback.  Please come along with an open mind so we could have the opportunity to grow together.

** Note: during purely social dancing, our etiquette is 'no teaching on the dance floor' and also, please abstain from giving feedback or any criticism while social dancing, unless safety was a concern **

Zouk Sundays Casual Classes

In this edition of Zouk Sundays we will have 1 hour of class time, where we will focus on a fun combination taught by Behrouz & his teaching assistance team at Cloud 9 Zouk.

We also have an Introductory zouk class, assisted by wonderful volunteers from our community, for those who are new to dancing or new to the Zouk style. 🙂

Classes will be followed by 1 hour optional practica and dancing time and 3 more hours of party / social dancing.  (see details above re. Practica). 🕺💃

This event is open to all of our Zouk members in our community.

⌚5 - 6 PM ...... Classes -  Open level Workshop (for those who have completed a beginner course)

⌚6 - 7 PM ..... Optional Practica and Social Dancing

⌚7 - 10 PM ..... Party/Social Dancing time!

LEVEL:    

> Intro Beginner Class: No experience or partner required and everyone is welcome! 

> Open Level Workshop:  Intermediate or minimum of 6 months or more Zouk lessons experience    

 💰INVESTMENT:  $20 for 1 hour of Class & 4 hours of Practica & dancing time.
