BRISBANE ZOUK FESTIVAL 2025 WAS EPIC! ❣️❣️❣️

The vibe, the community feel, the inclusivity and the amount of love & passion was seen, felt, and we loved it! ❤️ 🤗

Our greatest appreciation to our amazing supporters who made our festival one of your chosen dance events for the year, and came with an open mind for learning and open heart to be inspired, and to make the most of being all together in such a beautiful space. ❤️

We never take this for granted and we appreciate it from the deepest part of our hearts. 🤗💝🙏

BZF is a festival with the aim to bring everyone together, to celebrate Zouk, awesome dancing and friendships, and to acknowledge and value our national instructors and artists and their wonderful communities in all corners of Australia & New Zealand! 🥰🙏

We also love introducing some inspiring and unique international artists from further away for us all to experience, meet in person, and to be inspired and learn from. 🙂💃🕺🤩

& This year was no different, with a wonderful mix and combination of passionate and talented Artists from all corners coming together in a beautiful spirit of fun, teamwork, passion for their craft, and the will and aim of bringing their absolute best to our dancers. ✨️✨️✨️💖

We loved and felt that incredible vibe of having everyone together, and we can't say this too much, we’d like to extend our warm and heart felt appreciation to so many of you who made this event happen, whether travelling from afar, or taking advantage of your 'home grown' event in Brisbane, and who created the energy that makes this festival so dear to us! 🤗❤️

So Firstly, thank you to everyone, to all the dancers, from all around Australia, NZ and further afield who came along with such a positive energy and vibe and supported this community event.

On that note, we all know that this wonderful and united community that we have here in Australia & New Zealand is only possible because of our amazing national Artists and teachers who go out there day in and day out putting in the hard work, their effort and their wonderful warm energies welcoming and introducing new people to Zouk and creating communities in their parts of the world. ❤️

Your workshops were so well received and appreciated and we are so privileged to have you all being a part of our festival and supporting us. 😍

And... our amazing International Artists for 2025 have done it again! Giving world class workshops, being so humorous & warm, and humble & down to earth, and dancing away with everyone. 🤗

We loved having them all as part of our festival, and appreciate their efforts to be here with us and to deliver their best each day, even with their busy schedules and the late nights!...

So of course we cannot forget our Amazing DJs who kept the parties pumping. 🎶🎧🎶 We had an incredible DJ team this year, and you guys are the heart of the parties and took everyone through a wonderful journey every night. So, thank you so VERY MUCH for working hard, and bringing your best sets! to give everyone the best experience! ✨ We looooved every night! 🥰💃🕺🙂

Kudos to our BZF DJ's 👏 - Sexy Alexy, Grevo, AJ, Panda, Traj, Jeff, Shauninho, Adu, Ana, Dev, Minsk (Adam), and Double B (Behrouz). 🙏

And of course our Friday & Saturday nights wouldn't be the same without some special performances lighting up the stage at BZF! 🌟 We've had so many people and our students telling us how amazing the shows were and love the inspiration and entertainment it brings to our audience.

We would love to give our BIG gratitude to all the team leaders and teachers who trained, encouraged and brought their performance teams along to provide their wonderful entertainment for our Shows nights. It’s a lot of hard work and dedication, so thank you to ALL the Teams and Dancers, and of course our own Cloud9Zouk teams. 🙏💖

A BIG shout out then to our MCs who we appreciate for stepping up for us, and who did a great job entertaining our audience and introducing our awesome performers.🌟 Thank you, Steve & Izzy (you were Unstoppable! 😁😉) on Friday, and our irrepressible Joe & Jimmy on Saturday might!

🌟 Another integral part of our events, is so many beautiful & memorable moments, all of which would fade from memory, except that they are captured by our awesome Photographer & Videographers! 💖

A HUGE HUG and thank you to our wonderful Bob McGahan Photography for being there as always, we love your presence at our events & especially appreciate the extra long hours given to a festival like this. Our videographers, Roman, who has been there for us for many 'gigs' now 🙂 and joining us from Adelaide, Kerry (Call This Guy) 'sexy pants' 😉 & Marlon, for all of their hard work, professionalism and commitment.

We love you guys and what your create for us and our attendees and artists to be able to look back on and remember all the special moments. 💖 🫶👏

Our aim was to have an inclusive, warm, and friendly event for all of our community to enjoy, and to give the opportunity for people to get to know and appreciate all of the instructors and community leaders, and their fellow dancers. So we very much appreciated the beautiful venue, The Old Museum , and would like to thank their wonderful crew and team for their lovely assistance and guidance, and for working with us to be able to bring this event to you all in such a unique and incredible venue! ♥️

You are all integral to making our event happen, as well as of course our big crew of helpers! So, we’d especially like to give a big shout out to our tireless volunteers, who worked together as such a cohesive team, and who kept things going smoothly behind the scenes. 🤗🙏❤️

Thank you for your teamwork and organisational skills as well as your warm welcomes at our registration desk, Our Team Leader @Emma, and amazing team: @Connor, @Bernard, @Camille, @Nasim, @Chelsey, @Amatulla, @Farzad, @Nici, @Rakesh, @Rosa, @Dragan, @Nelson, @Isobelle, @Alina.

And an extra thanks to set-up and pack-up crews - Connor, Bernard, Farzad, Emma & Rakesh.

A special thank you as well to the beautiful Christina and Chelsey for bringing the concept of the 'care team' to support and lend an ear to our dancers if needed, and to Lucien as well. Also to the lovely Nici for introducing her body rest, reset & recovery session, which we trialled and only added last minute. 🌻🤗 We will explore introducing this as a new feature to our event.

We love BZF to be about being able to 'go hard' for workshops and special class opportunities, as well as to dance your hearts out, but also to be able to 'chillax & unwind in between as well. 😄

So a note of thanks to all of our stallholders, so that we could offer the little extras to our attendees - our appreciation to Jeni and Bizee Bodyz for returning with her gorgeous & practical, non-seethrough dancewear, and the multi-talented Dr. Cass for her calm presence and healing chiropractic skills and bodywork 💖, as well as Jess Lai (The Holistic Dance Physio) for remedial & physio therapies, to help our dance friends survive all the hours of dancing. 💖

And of course our lunch breaks are so much more convenient and an enjoyable break with having our food vendors close and ready. 😋

Our appreciation to Marie for bringing her beautiful Mirabelle Vintage Van to help us kick start our mornings with coffees, teas and the tastiest pastries, to Indah & Andre of Nude Juice for joining us again (we missed you!) with their refreshing fresh juices, to Dave & Jess with their awesome Latin, Vamos Eats, and Quentin of Dumpling Masters brining us some tasty Asian treats. 😋 🙏

Our break times and lunch in the Garden wouldn't be the same without you there, and we appreciated your speedy service and tasty items to no end!

Another thing that has become a little bit of a tradition at BZF, is our Sunday BBQ!

Our time to have a relaxed and sociable break for us all to enjoy the food, the beautiful lawns and spending some fun and friendly time together. ✨️💖

This year our BBQ was brought to us by Smoothline Catering & Functions, and with many of our volunteer team pitching in to make things run smoothly and looking after our attendees so nicely. Thank you, Craig and Smoothline! ❤

And Post-Event... what an awesome time for those dancers who stayed extra to celebrate and relax with us! Thank you for joining in with these other activities as well. 🙂...

Introduced 3 years ago, the super fun 3hr Boat Trip down Brisbane River, skippered by Barrie's lovely and friendly crew from Brisvegas Cruises aboard the charming Lady in Red vessel. ⛴️🌞✨️

What a wonderful way to spend a beautiful Brisbane morning with friends from all over. ⛵ With special thanks Alexy for DJ'ing and bringing the cruisey tunes ( & the funk 😉 ). 🙂🎵💃🕺

& Not forgetting the final 'cherry on top' , a chance to relax, soak in the magnesium baths and (for those game enough 😉 ) the refreshing cold plunge for recovery, all at the beautiful rooftop bathouse, Soak in West End. ahhh!

Each year we love to add new ideas, such as the mini Day Parties this year, and to improve where we can as well. So please feel welcome, everyone, to let us know your feedback and any comments - we will be sending out a survey especially for this!

Final words...

For us this BZF2025 was a huge, eventful, and feeling-filled event this year, with our energies high the whole weekend from all of the warm and wonderful people enjoying, and seeing the enthusiasm of our dancers, sharing their love and appreciation for everything - - for all of which which we are so grateful and over the moon 🌜 about. 🙏❤️

So, a final BIG thank you to you ALL, we hope each of you had an amazing time, and we thank you all, every person who was a part of this magical weekend with us. ✨
